Stroke Improvers and our *NEW SWIM ACADEMY*

Having recently expanded our Stroke Improver offering - we now provide sessions at the newly refurbished pool at the Royal Grammar School in High Wycombe as well as at the main Wycombe Leisure Centre

Stroke Improvers is now divided into different squads

*NEW SWIM ACADEMY* Stroke Improvers 1 - 4 (4 groups) now running at RGS School Pool - each session is 45 minutes and runs weekly on various days. The focus is to take on new, younger swimmers, who are already competent in the water but need more stroke and stamina work.

Stroke Improvers Advanced - these are run at the Wycombe Leisure Centre at the weekends and for 1 hour per week sessions. They are a progression on from the previous groups with more focus on the introduction of competitive skills and refining and reinforcing good technique.

Stroke Improvers Plus - Swimmers progress to this group as a transition into the Academy or Development squads where they often start swimming twice a week for 2 x 1 hour sessions. Adding an extra session helps to consolidate the technique and enable the coaches to start preparing the swimmers to enter competitions and/or build stamina across the strokes. Swimmers at this stage start working towards The Swim England Club Awards. Working towards gaining these awards, help swimmers to make the transition between learning the fundamentals of swimming and starting the journey to become a club swimmer.

Any swimmer wanting to join the club is welcome to attend a FREE trial to see if they are suitable to join the sessions, either in one of the entry level groups at RGS school or into a more advanced group dependng on what level they are currently at.

All the Stroke Improvers groups run most weeks of the year and swimmers are assessed on a regular basis and moved up when they are ready.

Trials can be organised by completing a trial form on the homepage
