Masters National Short Corse Championships

This event is one of the premier masters events of the year and 11 WDSC masters went to compete -

Fran Kidd, Ami Pantridge, Becky O’Brien, Sam Usher, Pip Williams, Ben Allsop, Dave Gee, Keith Goggin, Matt Conrad-Jones, Charlie Messenger, Adam Barrett.

It was absolutely fantastic to see so many old friends, make new ones, swim some great races and watch some incredible records being broken.

I think we all enjoyed the 200+ 4x100 freestyle relay most - a very close battle for third and all of us in the team working hard for each other. That is what Masters swimming is all about - teamwork, fun, friendship with a dose of craziness thrown in for good measure.

WDSC masters came away with a World record, a European record, 6 Golds, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze, as well as 9 club records.

As ever our thanks go to Dave Gee and all our coaches - all their hard work through lockdown and since have ensured great results all round.
