WARM WEATHER Training CAMP '14

October 24th - October 31st 2014

More Details

The coaching team plan to run a training camp each year in October as it’s an important part of the training programme each season. Whilst the full benefits of such a camp won’t be seen immediately, it has long term benefits to your training programme over the course of the season and years.

We view this camp as an important part of the training cycle and program, swimmers should not feel under any pressure to attend our swim camps every year. As we are holding them annually, we recognize the financial pressure on families and your swimmer should feel assured that not attending this year does not exclude them being invited in subsequent years. We recognize that annual attendance may coincide with possible clashes with school trips, school exams etc. Please discuss any concerns or clashes with the Head Coach directly so he can understand any situations. There are potential opportunities for swimmers to access grants with local organisations in order to support their attendance on the camp; equally swimmers will have the possible opportunity to fundraise. We would like to think that each swimmer will take some personal responsibility in finding ways of supporting themselves to attend the camp.

We’ve decided to select Tenerife (and the T3 centre) for the 2014 camp once again. The 2013 camp was a huge success and this was largely down to the fantastic facilities that the T3 complex and hotel that we stayed in.

Participation is by invitation of the Head Coach.

Cost

The indicative cost is £1080 this has been estimated using a quote from Sports Abroad but no firm flight costs as the flight costs have not yet been released, therefore there could be some adjustment on this.

As the Siam Park trip was so popular we have included this in the cost as well as a contribution towards team prizes. The cost of a team polo shirt can also be included, this would bring the cost to £1095.

Please return the response slip to Kevin or Craig by Sunday 1st December 2013. We appreciate we are asking for a rapid decision but the current deal we have on offer ensures the camp cost remains very competitive and is only held until Dec 2nd We will be setting up a payment plan to enable budgeting.

We are prepared to take a maximum of 40 swimmers and if this is realised it will help to keep the costs down. Swimmers must be aged 12 at the start of the camp and have been selected from the following squads:

Senior Performance Junior Performance Junior Fast Track
Junior Competitive Selected Potential One
