Mick Wakely

Mick joined Wycombe District Swimming Club in September 2005 as Assistant Coach. In October 2006 he became Head Coach following the departure of the then Head Coach, Bob Pay. He moved back to this area from Bury St. Edmonds where he was Head Coach at West Suffolk Swim Club and has had a long career in swimming with notable results.

Qualifications:

Institute of Baths Management Pool Plant Operator; First Aid Certification; Full membership BSCA, ISTC, ISDO; RLSS Instructor; ASA Coach; National Lifeguard Certificate.

· Coach to three Olympic swimmers - Robin Brew, Gary Binfield and Madeline Campbell
· Coach to swimmers who have broken seven British National records
· Coach to many National finalists and Champions
· Coach to over 400 National qualifiers
· Founder of Maxwell Swimming Club
· Initiated and Managed numerous projects including training camps, open meets, and National Triathlon Championships
· As Head Coach to the Bridgend Regional Performance Centre for high level coaching for swimmers in the mid Glamorgan area, coached several swimmers who went on to break over 20 Welsh records.
